We need incentives to survive: Wind Energy Sector

New Delhi, Feb 5 (KNN) With the Union Budget is to be presented on February 29, the wind energy sector has pinned hopes on the budget for sops to boost the renewable energy sector.

Talking to KNN, Chairman of Indian Wind Power Association (IWPA) Kasthurirangaian said that Union Budget is coming and we want some concessions from the Government side as several new machines needs to be installed in wind power sector.

The industry is in need of  incentives for its  survival, he added.

"The wind Energy power industries was going through bad phase when the Accelerated Depreciation benefit was stopped by the Government but later it was again restored in 2015.

The industry is happy with move taken and said now once can get 80 percent of accelerated depreciation benefit," he said.
 
He said that  there is no change in ease of doing business in India, however Government wants to help in several places.

Machines are now old, and we want to put big megawatt machines in the industries, he said. (KNN Bureau)
