Well-equipped agri business incubator for start-ups on the cards

New Delhi, Dec 19 (KNN)  Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is planning to set up a well-equipped agri business incubator to support start-ups to evolve and grow into mature businesses.

The agri business incubator would ensure development and efficient functioning of the institute.

IARI helps technology start-up businesses with all the necessary resources and support to establish themselves into business entities.

It provides incubatees with necessary infrastructure support, technology support, research assistance, assistance in getting funding as well as business consulting assistance.

For setting up a fully equipped incubation centre, IARI seeks bids from manufacturers and suppliers for the procurement of equipment like – electrophoresis units with power packs and UPS; spectrophotometer with printer; gas chromatographs with cylinders, hardware and software; PCR; and centrifuge.

Major area of focus will be development of the institution by providing hi-tech equipment to help incubatee private companies and collaborators in various projects to do whatever is necessary to make the start-up a success.

IARI is the country’s premier institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has served the cause of science and  society  with  distinction  through  first  rate  research,  generation of appropriate technologies and development of human  resources.  The green revolution was born in the fields of IARI.  (KNN/SD)
