WEQ 2018 invites women entrepreneurs with technology start-ups for contest

New Delhi, Sep 13 (KNN) To strengthen and build a dynamic and supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in India, Anita B.org India, a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in technology, has announced the 8th edition of Women Entrepreneur Quest (WEQ).

The WEQ-2018 is the contest for women entrepreneurs, who are founders of startup in the technology centre.

The objective of this contest is to encourage, promote and showcase technology start-ups, founded by women entrepreneurs.

 WEQ compliments the Government of India’s program of National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. 

It is not just a popular contest but a comprehensive platform that provides mentoring, learning and networking opportunities for real business growth. It identifies and rewards talented women entrepreneurs who are founders of technical ventures.

WEQ provides a platform to women entrepreneurs in India who are founders of start-ups in the technology sector.

With the participation in this contest, women entrepreneurs will get the guidance, networks and inspiration they need to grow their business. 

The top ten winners of WEQ 2018 will receive an all-expenses-paid experiential learning visit to Silicon Valley, US. The visit is for five working days and will take place in 2019 where they will get access to quality networks, expert guidance and inspiration.

Besides, the 25 finalists of WEQ 2018 will receive a free one day-pass for attending the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) 18 conference on 14-16 November, 2018 in Bangalore.

GHCI is the largest technical conference for women in India and is a great opportunity to learn and network with some of the best minds in the industry.

WEQ 2018 is sponsored by AnitaB.org India and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) plays’ an integral role in supporting and organizing WEQ 2018. AnitaB.org India, DST and IUSSTF have been in a joint partnership and successfully organizing the WEQ contest since 2014.

The contestants can apply for WEQ 2018 Stage 1 form latest by September 30, 2018.
