With Kamarajar Port added, DGFT allows import of Metal Scrap and Waste through 18 designated ports now
New Delhi, Jul 21 (KNN) Kamarajar Port is enlisted as a designated port for import of unshredded metallic scrap and waste, said a Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
''In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby inserts the name of Kamarajar Port in Para 2.54 (d) (iv) of HBP, 2015-2020,'' DGFT said in a notice dated July 20, 2021.
As per the revised para 2.54 (d)(iv), the import of scrap would take place only through following designated ports and no exceptions would be allowed even in case of EOUs, SEZs.
These ports are as follow: Chennai, Cochin, Ennore, JNPT, Kandla, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip, Tuticorin, Vishalchapatnam, Pipava, Mundra, Kolkata, Krishnapatnam, Kattupalli, Hazira and Kamarajar.
