New Delhi, Sept 10 (KNN)  FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has taken a 50-member strong women business delegation to Bhutan, one of the largest contingent of its kind, for a four-day visit starting today until September-14 to explore business opportunities.

President of FLO, Neeta Boochra will lead the delegation.

“The objective of the visit is to explore and discuss how business women can engage and expand their business. Some women entrepreneurs are already doing business with Bhutan. The meetings with women leaders and entrepreneurs of Bhutan will help in providing and understanding the existing synergies between Bhutan and India for enhancing and deepening business engagements,” an official release said.

The delegation will explore opportunities in the sectors such as education, textile, hydro power, construction, gems and jewellery, chemicals, garments, art and tourism.

The all-women business delegation will engage in high-level interactions and will meet Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay; Economic Minister, Norbu Wangchuk and Queen Mother, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck.

The delegation also plans to meet women parliamentarians of Bhutan and will have a meeting with the members of Bhutan Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BAOWE). The meeting with BAOWE, which also represents SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC), the way FLO does, will discuss issues pertaining to SAARC-SCWEC.

The audience with the Queen Mother will help bring forward FLO’s activities on skill upgradation, capacity development and empowerment of women, girl child and youth. FLO will be happy to work in all these areas with women of Bhutan, the release said.  (KNN/ES)
