Workshop on 'Standardization for Energy Efficiency in Household Appliances'

New Delhi, Oct 14 (KNN)  Within the framework of Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure for cooperation in standardization, conformity assessment and product safety, a  workshop on “Standardization for Energy Efficiency in Household Appliances” will be held here.
 
Organised by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für. Internationale Zusammenarbeit) in partnership with BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), the workshop will be held on October-17.
 
The workshop will be attended by representatives of the concerned government departments, research institutes, industry and industry associations, testing institutes, consumer organizations, experts and other stakeholders. 
 
During the event, national and International experts will present the Indian and German perspectives on important topics such as energy efficiency labelling schemes, regulations and standardization initiatives for washing machines.
 
On the agenda are topics such as Indian Standards on Household Appliances and their Implementation; Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme in Europe; Indian Standard for Washing Machines and Implementation: Indian Experience; Requirements in the German Standards on Washing Machines;  Implementing Standards for better Performance: German Experience; and Initiatives of Indo-German Energy Forum.
 
Speakers at the event include Director QUIP, GIZ, Ruth Anna Buettner; VDE Testing and Certification Institute, Germany, Christoph Tuerk; Director IGEF, Markus Wypior; and Senior Technical Advisor, GIZ, Alok Kesari.  (KNN/ES)
