World Bank aided centre for low energy use technology

New Delhi, Feb 26 (KNN)  Aimed at adopting technologies which will require lower energy consumption, the government is planning to create a Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment (FLCTD) with support of the World Bank.

FLCTD will aim at promoting and adopting increasing use of new technologies which shall require lower consumption of energy to deliver required performance especially in three focus areas – industrial low grade waste heat recovery; pumping; and heat transfer in HVAC, cold storage, etc, said a notice.

The Technology Development Board (TDP), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is implementing the project.

TDP now seeks bids from agencies, firms, consortium groups to act as a project management unit for FLCTD.

Technology development board aims at accelerating the development and commercialisation of indigenous technology or adapting imported technology to wider domestic application.

The Board provides financial assistance in the form of equity soft loans or grants.  (KNN/ES)
