YEIDA Begins Export Survey For International Business And Trade Centre

New Delhi, May 27 (KNN) Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will conduct a detailed survey of products exported from India before finalising the blueprint for its proposed International Business and Trade Centre near the Noida International Airport.

The authority plans to identify high-demand export products and allocate dedicated spaces for related industry segments within the proposed trade hub.

According to officials, YEIDA will collect export-related data with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is expected to begin consultations with the ministry shortly.

The proposed International Business and Trade Centre is being planned on the lines of the globally recognised Yiwu Market, one of the world's largest wholesale trade markets.

YEIDA has already appointed Ernst & Young to prepare a feasibility and study report for the project, which was recently presented before YEIDA Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh.

Consultations Planned With Export Associations And Industry Bodies

During the presentation, officials noted that India's export structure differs considerably from China’s, as several Indian states specialise in unique regional products that have strong international demand.

In light of this diversity, YEIDA has decided to undertake extensive consultations and groundwork before finalising the project design.

YEIDA Additional Chief Executive Officer Shailendra Bhatia said the authority would seek a comprehensive list of India’s major export products from the Commerce Ministry and hold discussions with associations representing those industries.

The consultations will focus on understanding sector-specific requirements, including infrastructure needs, operational facilities and the amount of commercial space required within the trade centre.

Officials said the final blueprint of the project will be prepared only after incorporating inputs from exporters, manufacturers and industry bodies.

Trade Hub Aims To Strengthen Global Market Access

The proposed trade centre is expected to strengthen the global market access of Indian products by creating a world-class trade and export ecosystem adjacent to the upcoming airport.

The project envisions enabling international buyers arriving at Noida International Airport to directly visit the trade centre, inspect products and conduct business transactions through an integrated commercial and logistics ecosystem.

Necessary infrastructure facilities, including warehousing, trade support services and logistics connectivity, are also planned as part of the project.
