Gujarat CM Lauds Laghu Udyog Bharati's Role In MSME Sector Growth

Gandhinagar, Sep 30 (KNN) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday commended the efforts of Laghu Udyog Bharati in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across India.

Speaking at the organisation's Gujarat regional meeting in Vadodara, CM Patel highlighted its contributions to increasing production and employment in the country.

The Chief Minister emphasised India's ascent to becoming the world's fifth-largest economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

He credited initiatives such as 'Ease of Doing Business' and 'Make in India' for fostering self-reliance and boosting domestic manufacturing capabilities, citing India's emergence as a leading producer of mobile phones.

Laghu Udyog Bharati, established in 1994, is a national organisation representing Micro and Small Industries. It operates in over 575 districts across 27 states, boasting a membership exceeding 51,000, according to official sources.

CM Patel underscored the importance of innovation and technology in driving growth, stating, "Through innovation and encouragement, new technologies are being developed in the country, benefiting small industries. We are moving forward in the direction of Make for the World."

Describing the MSME sector as the ‘backbone of the country's development,’ the Chief Minister noted increased investments in Gujarat have bolstered MSME growth.

He urged Laghu Udyog Bharati to disseminate information about state government policies to the public.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi, during his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, also praised the 'Make in India' campaign for its positive impact on various sectors, including MSMEs.

The Prime Minister pointed to rising exports across multiple industries and increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as indicators of the campaign's success.

These statements from both state and national leadership underscore the government's focus on promoting domestic manufacturing and supporting small and medium enterprises as key drivers of economic growth.
