HKI Media To Set Up Rs 10 Cr AVGC-XR Centre of Excellence In Haryana

Chandigarh, Jun 11 (KNN) Media-tech company HKI Media has announced plans to establish a Rs 10 crore Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) in Haryana, responding to the state government's newly launched AVGC-XR Policy 2026.

The announcement follows the launch of the Make in Haryana Industrial Policy 2026 by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on June 1, under which nine sector-specific policies were unveiled alongside an Intelligent Investment Facilitation Portal aimed at streamlining approvals and investment processes.

What the Centre Will Do

The proposed CoE is envisioned as a hub for innovation, talent development, startup incubation, and intellectual property creation across the AVGC-XR spectrum — covering animation, VFX, gaming, comics, augmented reality, virtual reality, extended reality, virtual production, and immersive experiences, ANI reported.

The facility will support advanced research and development, industry-academia collaboration, creative technology development, and workforce training, with the stated long-term goal of positioning Haryana as a globally recognised destination for creative technologies and digital media.

Abhimanyu Sihag, CEO, HKI Media, said, “The launch of the Haryana AVGC-XR Policy 2026 is a strong indication of Haryana’s commitment towards future industries, innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent development.”

“Our objective is to build state-of-the-art infrastructure, nurture world-class talent, encourage innovation, support startups, and create opportunities that strengthen Haryana’s position in the global creative economy,” Sihag noted.

The Policy Context

The Haryana AVGC-XR Policy 2026 is one of nine sectoral policies launched as part of the Make in Haryana framework, which has set an overall investment attraction target of Rs 5 lakh crore.

The broader industrial policy also introduced an AI-enabled Intelligent Investment Facilitation Portal, offering GIS-based land identification, automated investment blueprint generation, and single-window clearances for investors.
