P. Rajeeve Highlights Kerala’s Industrial Growth And Ease Of Doing Business At Bengaluru Roadshow

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (KNN) Kerala's Minister for Industries, P. Rajeeve, highlighted the state's improved industrial ecosystem during a roadshow in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The event, organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry, saw the Minister engaging with industry leaders.

Rajeeve emphasised Kerala's rapid ascent in ease of doing business rankings, noting the state's jump from 28th position to achieving 'top achiever' status in numerous reform areas.

He stated, "The facts are far from the general presumption that Kerala is not suitable for industries."

The Minister outlined Kerala's new industrial policy, which prioritises nature and people alongside industry growth.

The state is focusing on 22 priority sectors in knowledge-based industries, including artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and aerospace.

Rajeeve reported significant progress in the state's 'Year of Enterprises' initiative. Within two and a half years, Kerala established over 290,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), attracting investments exceeding Rs 18,000 crore.

Notably, 92,000 of these enterprises are led by women entrepreneurs, and 30 by transgender individuals.

The Minister also addressed Kerala's labor relations, citing the Cochin Shipyard Limited as an example of the state's stable industrial climate.

He claimed that no factory has been disrupted by workers' agitation in the past 25 years, suggesting an investor-friendly environment.

Rajeeve concluded by asserting that MSMEs can now initiate ventures in Kerala within one minute, underlining the state's efforts to streamline business processes and foster industrial growth.
