UP Pollution Control Board Directs Industrial Units To Complete Mandatory NOC Process

Lucknow, May 7 (KNN) Officials from the Uttar Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) have directed entrepreneurs operating in industrial areas to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the earliest, stressing that compliance is mandatory.

Entrepreneurs who have not yet applied have been advised to complete the online application process promptly. Authorities said departmental officials are available to assist applicants facing technical or procedural issues.

Guidance Issued at Industry Meeting

The directive was reiterated by Regional Officer Ritesh Kumar Tiwari during an interaction with industry representatives at the office of the Noida Entrepreneurs Association (NEA) in Sector-6.

Tiwari clarified that while assistance will be provided, obtaining the NOC remains a compulsory requirement for all eligible units.

Industry Seeks Relief on Pending Dues

During the meeting, NEA President Vipin Kumar Malhan highlighted that several entrepreneurs had not applied earlier due to lack of awareness and are now seeking to comply. He raised concerns over the levy of pending fees and past dues.

Malhan requested the introduction of a one-time settlement scheme to allow such units to obtain NOCs without incurring backdated penalties.

Proposal to Be Considered

Responding to the request, officials, including Assistant Environmental Engineer Kishan Singh, said the matter falls under policy and can be considered if a formal proposal is submitted. They assured that such a request would be forwarded to senior authorities and the state headquarters in Lucknow.

Entrepreneurs present at the meeting expressed their commitment to comply with regulatory norms and support efforts to maintain a pollution-free environment.
