20,000 new MSMEs to come up in Rajasthan under State MSME Policy 2022

Jaipur, Sept 19 (KNN) The Rajasthan government will set up 20,000 new MSME units through its latest MSME Policy 2022 with a cumulative investment of Rs 10,000 crore and employment generation for 1 lakh people.

The policy was launched last weekend by Rajasthan’s Industries and Commerce Minister Shakuntala Rawat.

It aims to provide financial and technical assistance to increase the contribution of MSMEs to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GSDP) and exports.

To obtain Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) certification the state government will facilitate 9,000 MSMEs under the policy.

She also launched the state’s first Handicrafts Policy to boost employment opportunities for craftsmen and artisans.

Speaking at the Udyog Ratna and Export Promotion Awards in Jaipur, the minister said the policy will benefit artisans involved in textile, metal, wood, carpet, ceramic and clay, painting, leather craft, jewellery etc., and more than 50,000 new employment opportunities will be available in the coming five years.

Its objective is to provide better marketing arrangements for the development of handicrafts, reviving traditional and extinct arts, and creating new job opportunities.  (KNN Bureau)
