33,208 MSME units established in Manipur in last 7 years

Imphal, May 20 (KNN) Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) units in Manipur has increased from 1,085 to 34,293 since 2015, said Commerce, Textile and Industries Minister Nemcha Kipgen.

Speaking at the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM) during a meet on “Framing of Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (IIPPM)-2022”, she emphasized on the growth of MSME units in the State and said that Manipur is working towards industrialisation.

She called for an efficient industrial and investment policy to provide a major push to the State’s economy.

Minister Kipgen said that, “An efficient industrial and investment policy is the need of the hour to attract investment and to spur robust economic activity for industrial development in the state.”

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, the industry minister thanked CM for entrusting her with the responsibility to make Manipur a hub for the country’s future trade and commerce with neighbouring states and neighbouring countries.  (KNN Bureau)
