3rd MSME Summit takes place in Guwahati, 70 + delegates on board

New Delhi, Dec 26 (KNN) Eyeing at facilitating support to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the region, the 3rd MSME summit recently took place in Guwahati with over 70 delegates from different sectors participating in the summit.

The Summit was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Government of India, along with SIDBI and the National Stock Exchange.

Speaking at the event, Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner and Secretary, Dept. of Industries and Commerce of the Assam government highlighted the need to have better coordination among different institutions to ensure steady growth for the MSMEs.

In an appeal, Agnihotri also called for a more friendly environment to be facilitated for the MSMEs and the startups in the state.

Sreenivasulu, Director of the MSME-Development Institute, Ministry of MSME who was also present at the event emphasized that the government is committed in upholding the MSMEs in the northeast under the flagship project of Make in India.

The participating delegates at the event included representatives from financial institutions, banks and stock exchanges. Also industry bodies, manufacturing units, exporters and importers, private equity firms and venture capitalists were a part of the meet. (KNN/DA)
