815 MSME units closed down in Maharashtra between Apr-July 2022

Aurangabad, Aug 24 (KNN) About 815 MSMEs were shut down in Maharashtra from April 1, 2022 to July 20, 2022 out which 210 units were in Aurangabad, as per Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries & Agriculture (MASSIA).

Maharashtra saw the maximum closure of MSME units at 2,649 from July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2022 while 9,267 units of SMEs were closed nationwide.

The employment generation was badly affected due to the shutting of units in Aurangabad along with SMEs in other parts of the state.

MASSIA President Kiran Jagtap has urged the government to give more attention in providing financial packages to the SME sector before the situation gets worse.

Currently there are about 5000 MSME units in Aurangabad generating 85,000 jobs with an investment of Rs 1000 crore.  (KNN Bureau)
