Kolkata, Sept 22 (KNN) The MSME units in West Bengal are not getting land, power, water, communication, Union Minister for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) Minister Kalraj Mishra has said adding that around 94 per cent of the units have no reach to the financial assistance.

"Bengal might be leading in the sector but the condition is alarming and future is uncertain as a large number of units are getting sick... This is because units are not getting land, power, water, communication," Mishra said while addressing an interactive session organised by the Merchant Chamber of Commerce here on Saturday.

According to the Minister though the state has 25 lakh MSME units, around 94 per cent of them have no reach to the financial assistance.

He further said that there are the procedural impediments where you have to satisfy so many conditions under various laws to get the requisite permission and registration. While land is a big problem for the industry across India, the condition of West Bengal in that respect is alarming, he said, according to a media report. (KNN/SD)
