A regional office of MSME to be set-up in Amritsar: Minister

New Delhi, Dec 8 (KNN) To encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector in the border areas of Punjab, a regional office of MSME will be established in Amritsar, said Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Punjab.

Location for the regional office has already been embarked, he added.

He said this while addressing a gathering at the five-day Punjab International Trade Expo-2018 being held at Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar.

Nation building can be done only by strengthening the SMEs, Sodhi said.

The gathering included members from MSME conclave and industrialists.

He said, “Punjab government has prepared a special plan for the industrial development of the border districts. The state government is committed to make Punjab an industrial hub.”

“Work for establishing the regional office has been started. With its establishment, the industrialists need not to approach Ludhiana or other cities for their problems,” Director of MSME, Major Singh said.

The event was organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
