A separate policy for promotion of MSMEs in HP to be formulated: Industries Min
New Delhi, Dec 17 (KNN) A separate policy for the promotion of MSME sector in the state would be formulated, said Bikram Singh Thakur, Industries Minister, Himachal Pradesh.
Hoping to attract investment worth Rs 85,000 crore during Himachal Pradesh Global Investors’ Meet, proposed to be held at Dharamsala in June 2019, he said “The process of seeking approval of projects under the single-window system would be further simplified.”
According to official press note, all investment proposals would be included in broad sectors, including agri-business, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries, food Processing and pharma, tourism and hospitality, eco-tourism, power, ayurveda, healthcare, infrastructure, logistics and transport, skill development, etc.
He said a common online web portal/platform would be devised for receiving investment proposals for all sectors.
A state-level investment promotion agency on the pattern of Invest India is being mulled, he added.
As per the approved action plan, as many as six national roadshows in prominent business centres, three international roadshows and five mini conclaves within the state would be organized before the event, it added.
About the meet, Thakur said the Global Investors’ Meet would involve all departments, which would prepare their time-bound action plan to make the meet a success and agenda would be reviewed by the execution-cum-monitoring committee from time to time, he added.
He said the departments would identify the sub-sectors or areas for potential investment besides preparing a list of investable projects and information regarding availability of government or private land for such projects.
They should simplify procedure and system of obtaining regulatory approvals for such projects, he added.
In case the departments have already identified a few of such projects, they should expedite efforts to invite bids for such projects, the minister said.
To facilitating investments in the state, he said that all departments should review their schemes and incentives and make them more attractive for potential entrepreneurs, he added.
Further, he said that the government has sought to fast-track procedure of processing applications for grant of permission for lease of land for investment in projects under Section 118 of the HP Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972.
The Revenue Department would also make this process online for more convenience, transparency and better monitoring, he added.
