Academic Institutes in Aurangabad started projects on industrial problems with the help of MASSIA and GIZ

Aurangabad, June 13 (KNN) To Address the Industry Academia Gap in industrial research, GIZ with MASSIA (Marathwada Association of Small Scale industries and Agriculture) are helping Academic institution to connect with industries. 

GIZ has recently organized an Industry Academia meet in MASSIA office in Aurangabad, where representative of 06 Engineering colleges, Industries and office bearer of MASSIA participated. All Academic Institution urged industries to share their problems with their faculty members, so that academic projects can be run on actual industrial based problems.

MASSIA President Sunil Kirdak emphasized on the need of the hour for academic institution to start engaging with industries, so that a culture of innovation can be inculcate in institute faculty and students, he extended his support for this initiative and urged MASSIA Industries members to share their problems with academic institutes representative.

GIZ representative, Ali Tasvvar shared the last year success stories of projects done by academic institution of industrial problems, he encouraged all engineering colleges to form the industries interaction cell which can start engaging with industries.

As a result of this meet, 06 Engineering colleges have selected 03 faculty members from each colleges who would visit industries to collect the industrial problems. Based on these problems, Academic projects with be carried out by a mix team of students and professor for a period of 02 months. GIZ and MASSIA further informed that prize money would be awarded for best 03 projects and certificate of participation would be given to each participating students.

This initiative has been started under the framework of “Promotion of Innovation in MSMEs” jointly implemented by GIZ and Ministry of MSMEs. (KNN/ AT)
