Bengaluru, Nov 23 (KNN) Agro based industries can help farmers become entrepreneurs, said MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra.

Agro-based industries can be instrumental in upliftment of farmers by giving them the opportunity to become an entrepreneur, he said.

Mishra today inaugurated the first Standing Advisory committee Meeting on PMEGP in Dharamsthala near Bengaluru.

The meeting was presided over by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, co-chairman, National Level Advisory Committee on Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs).
“PMEGP & RSETIs can revolutionise the creation of employment,” the Minister said.

“RSETIs trainees can be encouraged to apply for PMEGP,” he added.

RSETIs are Rural Self Employment Training Institutes,  an initiative of Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to have dedicated infrastructure in each district of the country to impart training and skill upgradation of rural youth geared towards entrepreneurship development. RSETIs are managed by banks with active co-operation from the Government of India and State Governments. (KNN Bureau)
