New Delhi, Apr 2 (KNN)  Pursuing a development agenda, the UP government is set to unveil a roadmap for various projects worth Rs 3337 crore in Noida, greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.

The government’s plans include the development of a corporate hub, steps to alleviate chronic power shortage, sewage treatment plant, underpasses, multi-level car park and more in what is considered UP’s biggest development package, according to an official statement.

The 35 MLD (million litres per day) sewage treatment plant (STP) will be situated in sector 123 of Noida, which has been built on the sequential batch reactor (SBR) modern technology.  With the inauguration of this STP, NOIDA will become first city in India having capacity to treat 100 per cent sewage it produces.   The STP would benefit 28 sectors of Noida, in keeping with the ISO 140012004 standards in maintaining the environment of the city.

Other projects include the Nari Niketan building in Sector 34, pegged (at Rs 22 crore).   Built over a 5400 square metre plot, it would house unwanted kids and women, orphans and the destitute; equipped with counselling rooms, and class rooms offering academic and vocational training.

14,000 square metres have been set aside in sector 39 for a district hospital with 200 beds; of which half would be reserved for women, including pregnant women.  It would be fully equipped with a trauma unit, intensive care unit, pathology lab and radiological units (at Rs 424 crore).

“Cheap, accessible and quality healthcare for every person in the state is a dream vision of the chief minister,” the statement said, adding, “Residential facilities for the doctors and other support staff would also be constructed within the district hospital campus.”

The government has taken into account the growing population – both human and automobile and thus has plans for a multi-level parking lot in sector 18.  Spread over 26,840 square metres, it will accommodate 3085 cars and be monitored by CCTVs.  Battery operated shuttles will ferry car users from the facility to nearby areas.

Two 400 KV sub-stations will be set up in sector 123 and one 400/220 KV substation in sector 148 (at Rs 1,016 crore) to address power worries.  Also, a 33 KV sub-station (at Rs10-crore) will be built by the Yamuna Expressway Authority at Sector 17-A towards which a double circuit electricity line is already being laid.

Further, greater Noida will house a medical university at a cost of Rs 500 crore; an administrative block at Rs 300 crore; an inter-college for girls at sector 51; as well as 7,200 affordable flats in sector 10.  (KNN)
