ALEAP-GIZ to launch Dr APJ Green Industrial Park in Nandigama; 83 Women Entrepreneurs part of hub

New Delhi, July 13 (KNN) Aiming at promoting entrepreneurship among women and helping them set their own Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) unit, the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) in collaboration with The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) is launching the A.P.J Green Industrial park in Nandigama region of Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to KNN, Ramadevi, President of ALEAP-India informed about the initiative.

She said that the park is the replica of two other projects that were carried out by the Association earlier. The first such project was launched by the then President of India Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Azad who lauded the project and appealed for similar projects across the country.

“Kalam sir in his visit said that women entrepreneurship is the way forward for the country and it is important that steps such as this one is encouraged” she said.

Ramadevi further informed that the two similar parks work on a model in which the women entrepreneurs are given collateral free loan, the plot of land itself acts as security deposit for the bank.

Highlighting the significance of the project, she said that by now over 250 women run MSMEs have successfully started operations providing employment to over 10,000 workers. The new project is to add another 83 women run MSMEs in the list.

Also an Innovation and Incubation centre is being established for the women entrepreneurs in the region.

K T. Ramarao, Minister for Industries & Commerce , ITE&C, MA&UD along with other government officials and industry body would be present for the inaugural. (KNN/ DA)
