Andhra Pradesh govt clears investment proposals worth Rs 1.26 lakh cr
Vijayawada, Sept 8 (KNN) The investments proposals worth Rs 1, 26,748 crore were approved by the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday.
As per reports, these proposals are expected to create direct employment for 40,330 people over the next seven years.
In a cabinet meeting led Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state okays transfer of Rs 4,700 crore on September 22 to YSR Cheyutha beneficiaries numbering 25 lakh. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 18,750 to each woman of SC, ST, BC and minority communities in the age group of 45–60 years.
The state also approved 1454.06 acres of land in Prakasam district for the upcoming solar power plant, and for setting up the new revenue division with Chintoor as headquarter.
The other key decisions includes, four percent reservation for handicapped in jobs and promotions in all departments and expansion of Bhavanapadu Port.
Under the Jala Jeevan Mission, the government has approved guarantee to NABARD for a loan of Rs 4,020 crore towards implementing drinking water schemes in six districts.
A degree college in Nandyal with 24 teaching and six non-teaching outsourced staff, tribal engineering college in Kurupam with 80 regular teaching and six regular non-teaching staff and another 48 non-teaching staff under outsourcing, a new college in Dornala of Prakasam district with 25 regular teaching staff and six non-teaching staff are amongst other proposals that got the state administration’s nod.
The investment proposals approved by the Andhra Pradesh government will play a significant role in the overall development of the state in the coming years. (KNN Bureau)
