AP industrial policy to focus on start-ups, MSMEs: CM Jagan Mohan Reddy

Vijayawada, Feb 21 (KNN) The new Industrial policy should be framed in a way that it provides complete assistance to entrepreneurs from conceptualization to commissioning to marketing their products, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy told the officials on Monday.

During an initial review meeting to formulate the new industrial policy, the chief minister pointed out that the importance in the new policy should be given to marketing of the products and the necessary tie-up at international level.

Reddy further added that the state aims at promoting and providing support to the MSMEs who are facing tough competition with global brands. He said that the MSME policy should advise, assist and support start-ups in every respect.

“While giving top priority to encourage start-ups, it is also necessary to pay attention to provide basic infrastructure to meet the demands of port-based industries,” the chief minister said.

The Andhra Pradesh CM directed the officials to build a special facility in an area of three lakh square feet in Visakhapatnam to cater to the needs of start-ups.

The new industrial policy should be formulated keeping in mind all the above points, he added.  (KNN Bureau)
