District Collector Drives Entrepreneurship In Sri Sathyasai With PMEGP Loans
Amaravati, Nov 28 (KNN) T.S. Chetan, District Collector of Sri Sathyasai in Andhra Pradesh convened the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee Meeting on Wednesday, emphasising the critical need to support entrepreneurship through targeted financial assistance and streamlined administrative processes.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the district's industrial landscape, revealing significant progress in processing entrepreneurial applications.
Of the 3,994 applications submitted for establishing new industrial units, 3,883 have been approved, with only 51 being rejected.
The Collector specifically directed officials to expedite the approval process for ten industries currently listed in the single desk portal.
Highlighting the government's commitment to employment generation, the meeting underscored the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), which offers loans ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.
These financial provisions are designed to encourage unemployed individuals to transform their entrepreneurial ambitions into viable business ventures.
Chetan emphasised the importance of creating a supportive ecosystem for potential industrialists.
He instructed officials to meticulously evaluate applications, compile comprehensive lists of eligible candidates, and ensure timely processing of permits for industrial units.
The Collector stressed that loans should be readily accessible to qualified entrepreneurs and urged officials to facilitate industry establishment in designated plots.
The comprehensive review also focused on the Industries Department's recent actions regarding new industrial initiatives. Chetan was particularly insistent that all permit-related processes for industrial units be completed within established regulatory timelines.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including APICC zonal manager Soni Sahani, industries officer Sanjeev Raju, and entrepreneurs from across the district, reflecting a collaborative approach to regional industrial development.
