As per reports, the organisation will provide energy efficiency technologies and services under the EESL-UNIDO-GEF project for catering to the needs of industrial clusters, including textiles, chemical and pharmaceuticals, forging and foundry, paper manufacturing, rice mills, metal processing, etc.

These technologies are expected to help MSMEs enhance productivity, achieve monetary savings, access competitive pricing, streamline project management, and implement comprehensive energy efficiency improvements.

During a high-level meeting with EESL and state panchayat raj, rural development, municipal administration and urban development, and industries departments, Andhra Pradesh chief secretary KS Jawahar Reddy said that the state government is strongly committed to implement energy efficiency programmes with utmost dedication.

“The AP power utilities met their highest-ever daily energy demand of 263 million units on June 17. In this scenario, promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy plays a major role to meet the power requirements of the people,” he said.

EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor expressed the organisation’s readiness to support Andhra Pradesh in any area or project related to energy efficiency, which contributes to about50 percent in addressing climate change and also helps enhance the economy.

“The resounding success of Ujala (Unnat Jyothi affordable LEDs for all) scheme stands as a testament to EESL’s commitment. About 36.86 crore LED bulbs were distributed nationwide with a savings of around 47,880 million kWh per annum. About 9,586 MW of peak demand has been avoided, along with 3.87 crore tonnes of reduction in CO2 emissions, through this,” he added.  (KNN Bureau)
