NRDC offers mentorship to Andhra startups

Visakhapatnam, July 24 (KNN) The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has shown its interest to handle the position of startup mentoring in Andhra Pradesh.

Cmde. Amit Rastogi (Retd), CMD, NRDC has pitched the Andhra Pradesh government a proposal of handing over the responsibility of startup mentoring to the NRDC.

The NRDC celebrated the ‘Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav’ under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by conducting its fourth workshop on ‘intellectual property rights’ in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking on this occasion, the CMD said that the NRDC has time and again proved its capabilities of mentoring startups in various places across the country.

“The NRDC can provide a 360-degree support to the startup ecosystem of the state,” said Rastogi.

Highlighting the importance of intellectual property rights, DSIR joint secretary Surinder Pal Singh said, “Everybody acknowledges the importance of securing IP rights. But still there are apprehensions about investing time and resources on getting IP rights. The IP rights can be utilised to unearth the true monetisation potential of the innovations.”

NRDC senior regional manager Dr BK Sahu, Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society CEO Anil Kumar, Central Tribal University Vice-Chancellor Prof TV Kattimani spoke on this occasion.

APIS CEO Anil Kumar explained the efforts of the state government to further the innovation ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. 

He spoke about the progress made by the state on the innovation front in the last few years.  (KNN Bureau)
