PNB, Andhra Pradesh Government Launch India's First Bank-Led Quantum Finance Hub
Amaravati, Jul 24 (KNN) Punjab National Bank (PNB) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the PNB Quantum Finance Hub at Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV), creating India's first bank-led Quantum Finance Hub.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and PNB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ashok Chandra. On the occasion, Chandra also inaugurated the Quantum Finance Hub.
Hub to Drive Innovation in Banking Technologies
The initiative aims to promote innovation, research, talent development and the adoption of emerging technologies such as Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence in the banking and financial services sector, reported ANI.
The hub will bring together industry, academia, startups, research institutions, government agencies and technology partners to develop solutions for cybersecurity, fraud detection, operational efficiency, customer experience and secure digital financial systems.
Focus on Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation
The government said the initiative comes at a time when the banking sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation while facing increasingly complex cybersecurity threats and financial fraud risks.
The hub is expected to support the development, testing and deployment of future-ready banking technologies.
The facility will also encourage collaborative research, strengthen industry-academia partnerships, foster innovation among startups and help build a skilled workforce for the next phase of digital transformation in the financial sector.
State, PNB Highlight Long-Term Vision
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the initiative aligns with the state's vision of developing Amaravati as a global hub for deep technologies and innovation, with Amaravati Quantum Valley serving as a key innovation ecosystem.
PNB Managing Director and CEO Ashok Chandra said the partnership would help the bank leverage Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence to strengthen cybersecurity, improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience and prepare for the future of digital banking.
