AORMA hosted the two-day meet on technical up-gradation & modernisation of rice mills

Bhubaneswar, June 29 (KNN) All Odisha Rice Millers Association (AORMA) organised the two-day conference in Bhubaneswar on June 27-28.

The agenda of the meet was to deliberate on rice exports, technical up-gradation & modernisation of rice mills.

The conference was inaugurated by Pratap Keshari Deb, Hon’ble Minister of Industry, MSME and Energy, Government of Odisha.

Speaking at the occasion, Deb said “Rice millers in Odisha confined themselves to the traditional way of business. Other than doing business, you have to tap new opportunities in the market.”

“Our government implemented many policies for the betterment of Industries. You can come up with the issues and solutions you want from the government, “he added.

While addressing the conference, Laxminarayan Deepak Ranjan Das, General Secretary AORMA said “We want to educate our rice millers for value addition of rice and scope of export of rice in our state.”

To coach the rice millers on value addition and rice exports, AORMA invited Dr Hameeda Banu Itagi, Senior Associate Scientist, Centre of excellence in rice value addition at International Rice Research Institute Varanasi & Dr Nese Sreenivasulu, Senior Associate Scientist International Rice Research Institute, Philippines to provide assistance.
