AP Govt announces Rs 1000 per month allowance to unemployed youth

New Delhi, Aug 3 (KNN) In a state cabinet meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu led government has decided to give an allowance of Rs 1000 per month to all the unemployed youth in the state under the “Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestam” scheme.

About 12 lakhs youth in the age group of 22-35 years will get the benefit of the scheme.

For availing the benefits under the scheme, the website for registration will be launched before the end of this month and the disbursement of allowance will start after 15 days of registration, said Cabinet Minister Nara Lokesh.

He said that the disbursement will be made directly to the beneficiary's bank accounts.

“The allowance would be paid irrespective of the number of unemployed in a family," he added. 

He said that the government will not only provide financial help to the unemployed youth but also provide training and help them develop their skills.

The state which has already been reeling under huge fiscal deficit and fighting for special category state against centre will have to bear an additional financial burden of Rs 8,000 crore due to this scheme.

The Cabinet has also decided to fill 20,000 job vacancies, 9000 teacher posts, and vacancies in other departments.
