AP Govt has decided to release all the dues to weavers & cooperative societies: Textile Minister Gudivada Amarnath

New Delhi, April 14 (KNN) Andhra Pradesh government has decided to release all the dues to the weavers and cooperative societies. 

The government will also devise new strategies to make Andhra Pradesh handloom clothes make its mark in the global market, said Industries and Textiles Minister Gudivada Amarnath while speaking at the inaugural event of the Apco outlet in Gannavaram airport.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said he was fortunate to launch the apco new outlet soon after taking over the charge as minister. 

He said that Nethanna Nestham being implemented in the state is a model for other states. 

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the handloom weavers so that they can improve their handloom works.

He also stated that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is committed to bring the past glory back to the handloom sector in the state.

He wants Apco to come up with new designs and patterns to attract youth. 

Director of Textiles and Apco Managing Director, Chadalawada Nagarani said that they have trained a large number of weavers in readying the new patterns and designs to lure the clients even from overseas. (KNN Bureau)
