Apprenticeship Mela held at 20 Industrial Training Institutes in J&K; sees overall participation of 5000 candidates

Jammu, April 22 (KNN) The National Apprenticeship Mela, Jammu & Kashmir chapter was held on Thursday across 20 district nodal (Industrial Training Institutes) ITIs of both the divisions of the UT of J&K which saw overall participation of about 5000 candidates and about 200 establishments.

The Department of Skill Development – J&KUT in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship – Jammu & MSME –J&K also took part in this nationwide programme.

Emphasising on the establishments (industry) representatives to participate in more such events, Sudershan Kumar Director of Skill Development J&K urged them to register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Portal and align the candidates to the industry for providing them On-the-Job practical Training.

It was expressed that through this initiative the youth and the industry of J&K will benefit equally as it will generate huge employment opportunities and the industry will receive the share of expenses incurred upon these apprentices.

Highlighting the immense scope of placement for the candidates after the training, Kumar appealed the fresh and pass-out trainees to participate in the Apprenticeship Program wholeheartedly.

An online video conference–cum-interactive session was also held along with the other officers of the department.

The country-wide program was organised by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in association with the MSME Ministry with a slogan “NAYA BHARAT, NAYE AVSAR, NAYI SAMRIDHI”. (KNN Bureau)
