Assam govt urges SC/ST entrepreneurs to take advantage of NSSH scheme

Guwahati, Nov 22 (KNN) Umananda Doley, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of Industries and Commerce, urged the SC/ST entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunity under the National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme.

He was speaking at the vendor development program on ‘National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme’ organized by Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (ASIDC).

ASIDC is a nodal agency for implementation of the NSSH in Assam in association with North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi).

On the occasion Doley, who is managing director of ASIDC also, explained to the micro entrepreneurs and artisans how to compete with the modern industries and improve quality of their products, marketing and advertising.

The program was organized with the support of PHD Chamber of Commerce in accordance with the NSSH Scheme which is an initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), targeted towards developing a supportive ecosystem for SC/ST entrepreneurs.

It was attended by around 75 numbers of SC/ST entrepreneurs from in and around Guwahati.

Addressing the gathering, Manoj Kr Das, Deputy General Manager of NEDFi, said that the vendor development initiative would provide professional support to the SC/ST entrepreneurs to fulfill the obligations under the Central Government Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises, and adopt applicable business practices and leverage the Stand-Up India initiative.

Swarnarka Deka, Assistant Director of MSME-DI, Guwahati, gave a presentation on the Public Procurement Policy and facilities of the MSME-DI.
