Assam MSMEs get loans worth Rs 1,317 cr during pandemic

Guwahati, July 31 (KNN) Loans worth Rs 1,317 crore were sanctioned to 82,816 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Assam amid COVID-19 pandemic.

While interacting with General Managers (GM)s of District Industries and Commerce Centres (DICC)s and department officials through a webinar, Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on Thursday discussed in details about the implementation of various programmes and schemes for development of industries and commerce in the State.

Confirming the same, Patowary took the micro-blogging site twitter and said, ''had a Webinar to review the implementation of #AtmaNirbharBharatAbhiyan with GM DICC and other officers of Industries & Commerce Dept. I’m happy to share that 82816 MSMEs of the state have been sanctioned credit of Rs 1317 Cr of during this pandemic period.''

The Minister also directed the GMs to facilitate those industries which are facing challenges or problems, so that those can resume their operations smoothly. He also directed them to identify suitable pieces of government land where industrial estate may be set up in the district.

''Around Rs 3.44 crore have been disbursed for the indigenous industries of the State in sectors like japi, terracotta, mask-making etc. in the past two months,'' the Minister said.

He also directed the GMs that these funds should be utilized properly for promotion of the indigenous industries in the state and utilization certificates should be submitted accordingly.
