Assam govt to ink MoUs for investment worth Rs 8,000 crore in multiple sectors

Guwahati, May 9 (KNN) The Assam government is all set to sign investment proposals worth Rs 8,000 crore in cement and food and beverages sector on May 9.

Assam chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that three cement companies will set up their units in the state. An EV car manufacturer will also set up its unit.

“There are another Rs 7000 to 8000 Crore investment proposals in the pipeline. Investors are touring Upper and Lower Assam scanning the places for investment projects,” he said.

As per reports, the state government will ink an MoU with PepsiCo for setting up potato chips units in the state.

“As I was in Karnataka recently several investors met me and evinced interest in setting up units here,” he said.

The Assam government is optimistic about attracting investments from Tata group and Hindustan Paper Corporation (HPC).   (KNN Bureau)
