Alappuzha, Sept 15 (KNN) Autokast Ltd., a ferrous foundry manufacturing unit in the public sector is encouraging MSMEs in Kerala to self-manufacture engineering products required for the assembly works as well as other engineering components.

It is holding a MSME vendor meet at its Knowledge Centre at SN Puram near Cherthala today.

Autokast is a Govt of Kerala Undertaking involved in the production of all grades of grey iron, ductile iron and steel castings. It also produces Casnub bogies for freight wagons of the Indian Railways.

Engineering exports recorded around 8.1 per cent growth during the first four months of the current fiscal.

It reached USD 38.3 billion in April – July 2022-23 from USD 35.4 billion in the same period of 2021-22.  (KNN Bureau)
