Automobile body ARAI seeks to expand in global scale

Pune Jan 1 (KNN)  The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) which has been providing various services to the Indian automotive industry in the areas of design and development is keen to expand its operations.

“ARAI’s vision is to expand and become a global research and design research and design (R&D) organisation in the field of automotive engineering,” it said.

The institute which has its own laboratory in Pune with advanced research facilities like I.C. engines, fatigue, electronics and materials poised for a large expansion with new advanced R & D and testing facilities coming up in Chakan near Pune.

ARAI, an autonomous body of the Indian automotive industry along with Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises is developing automotive R & D homologation testing standardisation. It is also engaged in training and technological information services for Indian automobile industries and global manufacturers.

“ARAI has achieved excellent growth in the past with new avenues explored in the advanced R & D areas. It has been serving the industry for all their homologation needs and has also started giving these services for other international certifying authorities,” it said.

The institute will soon be appointing a new Director who will be responsible for developing, articulating and implementing the mission, vision and goals of the institute.

With the globalisation of economy and business, ARAI will its scope of services to meet the requirements of automotive industries anywhere in the world.  (KNN/ST)
