Ahmedabad, Jan 8 (KNN) Availability of land is one of the biggest challenges for the industrialists in Gujarat, Hemant N. Shah, Secretary of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Industry (GCCI) told KNN adding that USD 1 Billion Chinese Industrial Park in Sanand would certainly help boost the MSMEs.

Work on the USD 1 billion Chinese industrial park near Sanand in Gujarat is on full swing. Earlier this week, state Chief Minister Anandiben Patel recently held a detailed discussion with Xiao Ming Zhen, Vice MD of China Development Bank on the proposed USD 1-bn China Industrial Park near Sanand. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for the industrial park between CDB and Gujarat government during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015.

The park is likely to bring opportunities and business for the micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.

“The MSMEs in the state are quite optimistic at the Chinese Park would bring lots of business opportunities for them,” said Shah adding that the park will help boost the MSMEs in Gujarat.

He said that the biggest concern of the industry regarding the land availability is also likely to get addressed when the Park comes.

“Other than the business opportunities, the Park would also generate huge employment opportunities in the state,” he added.

Shah apprised that Sanand, which is emerging as one of the biggest automobile hubs in India, will now see more investments coming up.

Speaking about the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, he said that the pace at which the corporation works has deteriorated now.

“Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation used to be very aggressive in terms of work, but now the department does not work properly,” GCCI Secretary added. (KNN Bureau)
