Chennai, Apr 17 (KNN) Thoothukudi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (THUDITSSIA) will organise an awareness programme for entrepreneurs in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu on April-18.

According to a release, the programme will address the problems of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).   Topics such as finance, technology upgradation, marketing, hiring skilled manpower, import and export formalities would be discussed.

“The programme’s main agenda will be the awareness of SMEs about subsidies and schemes announced by the government for entrepreneurs. There are about 60 schemes announced by the government for entrepreneurs which most of the SMEs are unaware of,” said the Joint Secretary of Thudditssia, MSP Thenraj to KNN.

Other topics are participation in state, national and international level trade fairs, barcode registration, ISO certification, product certification, patent registration, design services, capital subsidy support for credit on technology upgradation, collateral-free credit, energy audits, ICT infrastructure upgradation and carbon credit aggregation.

The programme has been jointly organised by German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Cluster Craft and THUDITSSIA.

Entrepreneurs from both Tamil Nadu and New Delhi as well as industry experts are expected to attend the programme.

“We hope that SMEs will be able to avail of the subsidy schemes announced by the government,” the Joint Secretary said.

Thudutssia is a small scale industry association in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, working towards promoting and protecting small scale industries in the district. (KNN)
