Bamboo handicraft & training centre inaugurated in Poma, Arunachal Pradesh

Poma, July 6 (KNN) A bamboo handicraft & training centre has been inaugurated in Papum Pare district in arunachal pradesh on Tuesday.

The centre was inaugurated by Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara, in the presence of Chayang Tajo MLA Hayeng Mangfi and others.

The bamboo training centre has been setup with the aim to promote the communities, SHGs, farmers, field functionaries, artisans, entrepreneurs, etc, in order to build a sustainable base for production of value-added cane and bamboo products for domestic and export markets.There will also be strong emphasis on clean, green and user-friendly technology with suitable marketing network, including employment generation.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony, Tara said that the centre would help the locals become skilled and self-dependent. He assured to support the centre for promotion of local handicrafts and products.

Mangfi urged the centre to train a batches of women self-help group’s members from Chayang Tajo. He also assured that a sum of Rs 5 lakhs from LAD fund will be provided towards the future development of the centre.

Ajin Ana Society chairperson Techi Ana, scientist RK Taj, Geology & Mining Assistant Director Tassar Talo, ZPM Hina Camdir Tok, entrepreneur Tana Yami, gram panchayat members and GBs were also present at the ceremony.  (KNN Bureau)
