Banks in Bihar meet credit plans; improve CD ratio in FY22

Patna, July 28 (KNN) The banks in Bihar have met 99.59 per cent of their annual credit plan (ACP) for the previous financial year.

There has also been an improvement in the credit deposit (CD) ratio to 52.96 per cent which is a result of the constant pressure put by the state government on banks to improve the CD ratio by giving more credit to MSME and small enterprises, said officials.

The report was shared on Wednesday at the 81st state level bankers’ committee (SLBC) meeting held in Patna.

Credit disbursement was Rs 160,837 crore against the ACP of Rs 161,500 crore for FY22.

In the current fiscal the size of ACP has increased to Rs 2 lakh crore from Rs 110,000 crore in 2017-18.

Present at the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister and finance minister Tarkishore Prasad called the 99.59 per cent of the target as a big achievement.

Satisfied with the improvement in CD ratio, the deputy CM said he had instructed the bankers to take the ratio to 75 per cent, which is the national average.

The meeting was attended by Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar and top state officials, besides representatives from commercial banks, regional rural banks and private banks.  (KNN Bureau)
