Banks should have dedicated departments, extend sufficient credit to the MSMEs: Telangana Fin Min

New Delhi, July 29 (KNN) In an appeal to assist the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) financially, the Finance Minister of Telangana Etela Rajender has asked the banks to extend sufficient credit to the sector. He further appealed that he banks should have dedicated departments with expertise for the different industries of the state.

Rajender highlighted that in many cases the small enterprises are under-financed.

Emphasizing on the importance of the MSME sector, the Finance Minister added that not only do the MSMEs contribute to economy directly, it also helps sustain employment. Therefore the MSME units shouldn’t be deprived of credit.

He further informed that for the state government is keen to realise its aim of an accelerated growth and it is essential to channelize credit to the MSMEs in the best possible manner. Also the government has initiated several steps for the sector in the region.

Listing the initiatives Rajender said that electricity and water supply is made available round the clock, also various subsidies and easier clearance for setting up the MSME units is being facilitated.

The Minister was speaking at a two-day Bankers Conclave on ‘Financial opportunities for the MSME sector’ organised by the Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry. (KNN/ DA)
