Coimbatore, Sept 16 (KNN)  As many as 617 commercial banks in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu will provide collateral-free loans to micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) at an event to be held at Suguna Kalyana Mandapam on September 28.

According to a media report, the loan camp organised under the MUDRA scheme, is a part of a nation-wide special camp to be held from September 25 to October 2.

The district is looking for about Rs 5,000 crore credit disbursement to MSMEs this financial year and Rs 2,000 crore during the first six months of this fiscal, the report quoted bank manager K Krishnamoorthy as saying.

With several units looking at investments and revival of activity after the recently-concluded Global Investors’ Meet, the credit off-take by MSMEs is expected to only go up even in the short-run. (KNN Bureau)
