BBIA presents Memorandum to Steel Minister Ramchandra Prasad Singh

New Delhi, Oct 8 (KNN) Lalit Mahajan, President, Bari Brahmana Industries Association presented a memorandum to Ramchandra Prasad Singh, Union Minister For Steel  in the presence on behalf of Industries Fraternity of Jammu Province.

He expressed his views on the beginning of New Era of Development & Industrialization in Jammu and Kashmir. “We hope that the industrialization will achieve a new height in the coming days in our State to provide Employment Opportunities to the local youths as well as overall growth in the State Economy as we are expecting Huge Investment in Industrial Sector of J&K on the basis of INR 28,400 crore Central Industrial Package announced by Govt. of India,” he said.

During the course of discussions, Mahajan highlighted the various issues related to the Industrial Sector: -

  --  1. Compulsory Purchase by Central Govt. /Union Territory of J&K Govt. Departments from the Local Steel Rolling Mills.

  --  2. Reduction of GST on the Iron Scrap

  --  3. Establishment of Mother Industry in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir by  Public Sector Undertaking for the manufacturing of Products by SAIL,  Rail Coach Factory, Fertilizer Plants, Defense Production Unit, Automobile Sector etc. with Spin Off benefits in terms of ancillarisation, Generation of Employment, Procurement of Local Raw Materials etc. be established in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.   

  --  4. Establishment of Export Promotion Industrial Parks/ SEZ,s in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir with the reimbursement of Road Fright up to nearest Port.

Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President of the Association also drew the attention of the Ministry in respect of problem being faced by the Local Steel Rolling Mills engaged in the manufacturing of Quality Product in respect non acceptance of  TMT Bars from Local MSME Units by PSU like National Highway Authority of India, AIIMS, IIT, Konkan Railways etc.

The Union Minister For Steel assured the delegation to resolve the issues related to the Industrial Sector as early as possible for speedy Industrial Growth which will provide employment to local unemployed youths of the State.
