BBIA urges Commissioner of PDD to waive interest from Jan 2018 till date for deposit of pending amount under Power Amnesty Scheme

New Delhi, Aug 20 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) body, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has urged Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner/Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD) at Jammu to waive of the interest for the period January 2018 till date for deposit of pending amount as on December 31, 2017 under the Power Amnesty Scheme.

The delegation led by BBIA President Lalit Mahajan met the Commissioner of PDD in the presence of Suresh Mahajan, Senior vice President, Ajay Langer, General Secretary, Vivek Singhal, Secretary and  Viraaj Malhotra, Treasurer of the Association.

Voicing power related issues of the industrial sector of J&K, industrialist requested the Commissioner to extend the last date for the deposit of the principal amount under power amnesty scheme from 30-09-2018 to 31-03-2019.

Besides, delegation asked for simplification of procedure for the surrender of power connections by industrial units, re-delegation of powers for the sanction of industrial power load, allotment of requisite funds for the repair of existing infrastructure & availability of spares at grid/ receiving Stations, up-gradation of power supply infrastructure in the industrial complex under the R-APDRP scheme with the provision of bunch Cable.

During the interaction, Mahajan thanked the Commissioner/ Secretary for the issuance of Power Amnesty Scheme for the waving off interest, penalty and surcharge on power dues of the industrial sector vide government order no- 273-FD-2018 dated 05-06-2018 by the virtue of which wavier off 100% interest & penalty on all power arrears of industrial units as on 31-12-2017.

Kumar has assured the delegation to resolve the issues on priority basis.
