Bengal chamber to organize MSME conclave in February

Kolkata, Jan 31 (KNN) The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) is organizing its second edition of the Annual Manufacturing and MSME Conclave titled “Competence Building for Manufacturing, emphasizing MSMEs and Annual MSME Awards”.

This 2 day conclave will be held on 2nd & 3rd February 2018 at Williamson Magor Hall, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), Kolkata (Royal Exchange, 6, Netaji Subhas Road, Kolkata – 700001).

The tenth edition of its annual MSME Excellence Award program titled “The Bengal Chamber Awards on Achieving Excellence for MSMEs” will also be conducted with the help of representatives from the State and Central governments, industry (comprising of MSMEs and large corporate), experts, academia and others.

On the first day of conclave Engineering/Manufacturing Case Study Presentations will be there and on second day of conclave the Annual MSME Excellence Award Program will be conducted.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector is the pillar of economic growth globally specifically in India.

MSME plays a prominent role in providing and creating employment opportunities with low capital investment. Their contribution is immense in the socio-economic development of the country, the chamber said in a release.

MSME is a significant growth drive which contributes 8% to GDP besides 45% to the total industrial output and 40% to the exports of India.

They have the potential to trail-blaze industrial growth across the country and play a pivotal role in the process of inclusive growth. 

MSMEs are the fountain heads of several innovations in manufacturing and service sectors and they are a major link in the supply chain to corporate and the PSUs, the release further added.

The aim of the Chamber in organizing this conclave is to bring in view the excellent practices prevailing in the manufacturing and service sectors for the MSMEs and along with create a platform for sharing of knowledge, experiences and know-how in areas like engineering, manufacturing, technology, services and related aspects.

The pros of organizing conclave yearly is to encourage the “Best Manufacturing and Service Practices” by facilitating them with awards and certificates. Not only this non-awardees will be certified by the chamber in order to motivate them and support them.

Various large business houses and MSMEs across the country are invited with the objective of creating a strong network or connection with each other for sharing information, knowledge, etc for business promotion and growth.

Agenda of holding these kinds of programs is to encourage, motivate MSMEs in order to achieve excellence.

Registration process for the conclave will start at 9.30 a.m. on Friday, 2nd February 2018 at BCC&I and the program will start at 10.00 a.m. (KNN/YV)
