Patna, Jan 31 (KNN) In order to regulate the rehabilitation of micro and small enterprises in the state, the Bihar Government has constituted a state level committee for rehabilitation of the sick units.

In this context, the Directorate of Industries, Government of Bihar has proposed to appoint a Technical Consultant to assist the state level committee in the effective discharge of its functions.

The consultant and the committee will look after the technical and financial appraisal of the rehabilitation proposal to see whether the rehabilitation of the sick units under consideration is viable or not.

In cases where the rehabilitation proposal is approved by the state level committee, the committee along with the consultant will monitor, evaluate, and implement the rehabilitation plan of the sick unit till the time its net worth becomes positive.

The state has almost 2 lakh registered MSMEs units with a total investment of Rs 1,941 crore.

According to a recent media report, the Development Commissioner Alok Kumar Sinha has said, "The enterprises are more significant in states like Bihar. A vast network of SMEs will attract big investors. It will also be a huge source of employment in highly populated states like Bihar."

While addressing at a conference on MSME financing, organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) here last month, he added, "The state has almost 2 lakh registered MSMEs units with a total investment of Rs 1,941 crore. However, most of them are either sick or closed due to financial problems. They need fresh capital infusion. However, the banks are not taking interest in their revival." (KNN/SD)
