Patna, Jan 7 (KNN)  To meet the huge demand for universities in the state, the Bihar government proposes to set up private universities, an initiative to open doors for private investment in education sector.

As per the Bihar Private Universities Rules, 2013, private universities will be set up through a private trust or society, which will act as the sponsoring body.

In this regard, the state education department has invited bids from sponsoring bodies and public trust to be service providers.

To achieve the ultimate goal of 100 per cent quality education, the department has initiated different schemes and motivational programmes.

The state cabinet had approved the bill at a meeting presided over by the chief minister Nitish Kumar in April 2013. (KNN/ST)
