Patna, Sept 8 (KNN) The Bihar government will focus on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the next review of its Industrial Incentive Policy, according to a media report.

The report said that the industries department has taken the views of different industrial bodies with regard to changes.

The decision of the state government to focus on the MSMEs is in line with the view of former chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Last year, Kumar said it was more important for the state to concentrate on smaller investments and facilitate them rather than hoping and waiting for big players to come to the state.

The Bihar Industrial Incentive Policy was announced in 2006 and had been revised in 2011.

The revised policy has clauses, which aim to stop non-serious investors in the state, besides focusing on tourism and health sectors.

The state government is also concentrating on certain sectors like manufacturing, tourism among others and two sectors, namely health and tourism, are on the government’s priorities, added the report. (KNN Bureau)
